Tell us about your background. Where you grew up, where you went to school, industry experience, your family, and volunteer work.
I grew up on a farm in northwest Iowa near the Okoboji Lakes area. I got my Bachelor’s in hospitality management from Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN. I spent several years working in various hotels, including managing a Ramada, until I decided I needed a 9-5 job so I could spend more time with my family. Finance was another interest of mine, so in 2013, I jumped into the banking industry as a teller. I moved to Sioux Falls in 2015. In 2018, I joined the FNB team because I wanted to get into loan processing.
I have a sister and two brothers, and we try to get back to the family farm as much as we can. I enjoy spoiling my two nieces (3 and 1) any chance I get. My fiancé, Sean, and I will be getting married in September.
Outside of FNB, both Sean and I enjoy volunteering for our church’s worship team. We also help volunteer with other various projects through the church. I also love volunteering with Bank events. Last year, I participated in Rake the Town.
Q: What is your role at FNB? What does your day-to-day work look like?
I am the Lead Loan Servicing Specialist. I love my job because each day is different. We rotate different tasks so each week I work on something new. A majority of my job is putting loans on our system and disbursing funds to customers. I also handle any loan-related questions for employees or customers.
Q: What is your favorite thing about FNB?
I love FNB’s heart for the community. I love that I get to be a part of an organization that makes it a priority to serve those around us. We are given time to help with these serve projects and kindness events, and I think that’s really cool.
Q: What are you most passionate about?
If I have to pick one thing, I’d say family. I love spending time with them. We like to play games and those times have created some really special memories. I’m pretty crafty, so I usually get asked to help with a project or seven. We’ve also done service projects together, which I love.
Q: If you could witness any event of the past, present or future, what would it be and why?
I think I’d go back to the ‘50s-‘60s. I just think it would be so fun to go see someone like Frank Sinatra or Etta James at a Jazz Club. It would have been interesting to witness some of the changes for women’s rights during that time as well.
Q: If you had $500 to spend at any local business, where or what would you spend it on?
I love shopping local, and we have so many great local places in Sioux Falls. I would probably spend some of it at the ReStore for a project or two, a majority would be spent at Last Stop on books, and if I had anything left, I’d head to JL Beers for a Not A Nutter Burger and a local brew.
