FNB Family Friday:

Weston Hansen

Each week we’ll be showing you who we are through FNB Family Fridays! We’ve asked our friends and teammates questions that will give you a look into what they do at the Bank, their hobbies outside of work, and some of their favorite things. Be sure to check back here every Friday to read about another featured team member. We have some interesting people we work with every day!

This week we’re highlighting one of our Business Bankers, Weston Hansen. He chats about some of his faves, fun facts, and what he’s most afraid of.

Weston is a Business Banker at our Western Mall Branch. A native of Dell Rapids, he attended SDSU where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in business economics with a banking and finance minor.

He joined FNB in 2016 as part of the Business Solutions team, helping businesses manage their banking. Eventually, he got the opportunity to become a business banker, which is where he is today.

“We pride ourselves on excellent relationships, which means really getting to know the businesses we work with or want to work with and finding a way to help them.”

Q: What’s your favorite part about your job?

A: The people: the people I work for and the people I work with. The FNB culture is truly unique; whether it’s with teammates or customers, I’m always working with people who hold values similar to mine, and that makes the job so enjoyable.

Q: Describe FNB in three words and explain why you chose those three.

A: Service, innovative, and community. I think these three words really fit FNB’s mission and values. We always want to treat people right, we always want to improve, and we always want to give back.

Q: What might someone be surprised to learn about you?

A: I do about five crossword puzzles a week. I am not able to roll my tongue. Trust me, I try every day and yes, it bothers me. I am scared of birds, especially large birds.

Q: What is the best piece of advice you’ve received?

A: “Do hard things.” It’s three simple words, but when we challenge ourselves, we grow. And honestly, you’ll fail a lot more, but you can learn a lot through failure.
