FNB’s response to SolarWinds breach

By: Bill Anderson
Chief Experience Officer

Keeping our customers’ personal and financial information secure is one of the most important parts of what we do as a financial institution. We have many security protocols in place, from the physical security of our buildings to the security of our networks. As a family-owned Bank, we take care of our customers like family, and that carries through to making sure we protect customer information.

Recently, the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) became aware of a large-scale cyberattack executed through the SolarWinds Orion Platform, an I.T. management software. This software is used mainly by large companies, as well as sectors of the U.S. government. Initial investigation has found that the attack was primarily directed at U.S. government entities, not the private sector.

A breach of this scale can be scary. We would like to provide some peace of mind by letting you know that we do not use the SolarWinds Orion Platform. In addition, our security team has reviewed all of our systems and has not found evidence of any data compromise.

Nothing is more important to us than protecting customer information. We will continue to do all we can to prioritize safety and security. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
