FNB Family Friday

Seth Peterson

Each week we’ll be showing you who we are through FNB Family Fridays! We’ve asked our friends and teammates questions that will give you a look into what they do at the Bank, their hobbies outside of work, and some of their favorite things. Be sure to check back here every Friday to read about another featured team member. We have some interesting people we work with every day!

Our featured employee this week is Seth Peterson, our Internal Audit Manager.

Q: Tell us about your background: where you grew up, where you went to school, and industry experience.

A: I grew up in Manson, IA. A small town with the claim to fame of being the impact location of the meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs (recent evidence suggests the impact wasn’t to that same extent). I graduated from Buena Vista University with a double major in finance and Spanish. I received my MBA from USD, and have worked the last 15 years in banking with the last 12 years in internal audit.

Q: What is your role at FNB?

A: As auditors, our job is to enhance and protect organizational value through trusted relationships

Q: What have you gained from working at FNB?

A: Importance and value of relationships. Our organization is built on successful relationships. That starts with everyone one of us and how we can support each other to serve our customers and the community. I have also learned how important a community bank is in good times and bad.

Q: What is on your wish list for the next 10 years with FNB?

A: I am looking forward to helping the Bank evolve and meet the needs of the community in innovative ways while demonstrating excellence as a leader in the community.

Q: What are your hobbies outside of work? Where do you volunteer?

A: Running, biking, golfing. Currently, I serve as the Treasurer for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sioux Falls. I have served in a variety of roles with the Institute of Internal Auditors, including Audit Committee, Finance Committee, Global Board of Directors, and now the District Advisor of the Southeast and Caribbean. I’m also a Junior Achievement classroom volunteer and ambassador, and a mentor through LSS.

Q: If Hollywood made a movie about your life, who would you like to see cast as you?

A: John Krasinski – High expectations, but to blend the characteristics of some of his roles, including the humor of Jim Halpert, courage of Jack Ryan, and positivity of Some Good News.
