Ag Banker

Hometown: Dell Rapids, SD
Education: South Dakota State University

“I came to the Bank because of the relationships that they have with each other, their customers, and the community.”

Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve been farming with my uncle and cousins near Lyons, where we grow corn and soybeans and custom-feed cattle to finish weights.

After being involved with agriculture my entire life, I knew I wanted to have a career working in ag lending.

My favorite aspects of banking include working with family farms to pass the operation onto the next generation, as well as helping to expand a business. I love being a financial partner for producers before, during, and after these transitions take place!

Also, I pride myself on having extensive knowledge of production agriculture. My experience allows me to bridge the gap between what the ratios say on paper and how they apply to a specific operation.

As both a farmer and a banker, most of my hobbies revolve around these things. I enjoy volunteering at local, producer-focused events such as the Sioux Empire Livestock Show and Ag Appreciation Day.

Otherwise, you can usually find me at Lake Madison with my wife, Maddy, and our friends and family, or occasionally out on the golf course.

Between my job here at the Bank, working on the farm, and (most importantly) spending time with my loved ones, I’m fortunate to be able to enjoy each of my passions. Though it may seem simple, I consider having a good work-life balance to be my greatest accomplishment so far.
