Derek Ohme
Business Banking Team Leader
Hometown: Luverne, MN
Education: Augustana University
“The most important part of my job is leading others to success.”
After living in four different states and chasing the corporate dream for nearly two years, I found my home with First National Bank in 2003.
I was eager to get back to the Sioux Falls community, and it’s a blessing to be part of an organization that has such solid core values.
In addition to earning my bachelor’s in business administration from Augie, I continued my education at the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking. After 25 years in the banking industry, I value my personal connections with entrepreneurs and the opportunity to develop my fellow bankers as a team leader.
My wife, Leah, and I met in college and married in 2004. We have two awesome daughters and a dog named Augie. I love going to the girls’ activities, which are dance and track for Julia and basketball and soccer for Hadley.
Other hobbies of mine are golfing, watching Minnesota sports and Kansas Jayhawks basketball, and going to the lake. I also referee high school and college football during the fall weekends.
Currently, I serve on the board of directors and executive team for Ronald McDonald House Charities. I also stay active in Sales & Marketing Executives, Inc. of Sioux Falls and the Sioux Empire Officials Clinic.
